On the OMFLL page you can find directions to the Hershey Centre in Mississauga or you can click this link. This will take you to the Hershey Centre website maps page. From there click on the Google icon to bring up a map. By selection the Directions link on that page you can get a driving map and text directions from your front door. As well, on the Maps page, is a link to Iceland should you be scheduled there.

2009 England Tour

Oshawa wins final game and takes series!

The Blue Knights pulled out a 10-9 victory in overtime on Friday. March 27th to beat Young England and take the series 2-1 games. I believe there was a mild celebration after the game.

The team returned Saturday after a long day of travel. Many were weary, but they came home with smiles, souvenirs and memories to last a lifetime. One came home with some new piercings and one with a cast.

All the players and parents would like to give a grateful thanks to all the people that made this excellent trip happen. So to Terry & Paul - a great thanks for putting this together and keeping the thing going and to Rick and Harry many thanks for coaching and keeping the team together on and off the field.

Blue Knights defeat English University North @ Nottingham

The Blue Knights came back from all that London touring to defeat the English University North at Nottingham team 14-11. Sources state that the "Blue Knights team were young and athletic with some big hitters in D and talent in attack."

That sounds about right!

The Blue Knights have Thursday off and will play their finale against Young England Friday 7:30 PM evening at the slip and slide turf at Wilmslow.

Blue Knights earn a split

Monday, March 23

Sources (Matt Chamois) puts the series against Young England at one game apiece.

After arriving in Manchester Friday morning, the team got settled as best they could before taking on Young England 7 PM at Brooklands LC. Although the game was close at the half, 5-4 for the home side, the jet lagged Canadians couldn't keep up and the final result was 12-6 in favour of Young England.

Sunday, Mother's Day in the UK, saw the Blue Knights play an afternoon game at Wilmslow LC on slippery artifcial turf that was not what the Blue Knights were used to. After many skinned knees and one broken arm (Sam Powless) the team came away with a 12-9 victory.

The Blue Knights have a few days off to heal and tour the UK before hooking up with Northern University in Nottingham on Wednesday before closing out the tour Friday night in Wilmslow against Young England.

Blue Knights head to England!

The Oshawa Blue Knights Manchester Touring team headed to England this morning to play a series of friendlies against the Young England National Team as well as a game against Northern University at Nottingham. The team will stay in Manchester, site of the 2010 World Field Lacrosse Championships and will return on Saturday, March 28th.

In addition to the exhibition games the team will be taking part in many activities with their English hosts including seeing the sites in London, Manchester & Wales.

There was a lot of work put into organizing this tour and many thanks go out to the folks that helped create this opportunity for the team. A special thanks to Terry Lloyd, Rick Phillips, Paul Chamois & Harry Merzbacher for staffing the bench and an extra special thanks to Laurie and Terry Robertson for organizing the tour clothing & gear and to Anne and Brian Nakasuji for organizing the Euchre Party and Silent Auction night.

As well, the Blue Knights would like to acknowledge the work of U19 Team England manager Ravi K. “Baggie” Sitlani, whose hard work and generosity made this tour possible.

Ontario wins the Brogden Cup!

Ontario took the 3 games series 3-0 over an all-star squad from Rochester NY in the Brogden Cup series in Orlando FL over the weekend with Blue Knights playing very prominent roles. Congrats to Nick Diachenko, Mike Thomas, Ryan Serville, Kyle Lindsay and Kirby Upshaw.

Blue Knights 2 team captures Varsity Division 1 at Turkeyshoot in Rochester! A 6-2 victory over Team Illinois capped a 4 game run as the Blue Knights 2 team won the division at the Turkeyshoot with victories over Newark NJ (15-3), Brockport NY (14-2), Barrie (7-5).

Goalie Alexis Buque won a huge trophy as division MVP. This will go along nicely with Alexis' winning the Larry Ruse Award as the OLA's Top Midget goaltender for 2008. A BIG BK congrats for A-Bomb!

Blue Knights 3 team went 3-1 in the division losing to Team Illinois in the second game 9-3, but winning over Guilderland NY (9-5), Clarence NY (5-4) & Painted Post NY (8-7).

Blue Knights 1 team opened Division 3 play with a 13-6 victory over Team Iroquois, but lost the second match-up against the eventual division champ Onondoga Redhawks 9-3. The 1 team then finished up the tournament with victories over KW (12-4) & Toronto Beaches (7-4).

Oshawa #4 take Division 2 on Saturday! Round robin wins over Brighton NY (8-6), Ottawa (14-3) & Williamsville NY (7-4) put the Blue Knights 4 team into the final where they defeated Aquinas NY 6-4. Oshawa Blue Knights 4 was a select team from the Durham Knights 7v7 league.

Oshawa #4 goalie Avery King was named division MVP!

Congratulations to all the Oshawa Blue Knights teams! Of the 4 teams entered into the Turkeyshoot, Oshawa accounted for 2 division champions and had an incredible collective record of 14-2 in tournament play!

While all the players should be congratulated for all their hard work, a special congratulations and gratitude are due for all the coaches and managers with the Blue Knights this year who led their teams into the OLA U19 playoffs and had 2 second place finishes.

BLUE KNIGHTS FUNDRAISING RAFFLE!!

To help off set the costs for the Blue Knights we are having a raffle. You should have received your tickets – if not, please contact Mr. Chamois from the Blue Knights Team 2.

Each booklet of raffle tickets has 15 tickets. If all were sold for 3-for-5 the value owing is 25$ per booklet.

A BIG BK Thank You goes out to Shane Morlock and Family for arranging the signed Ottawa Senators jersey and to Terry Lloyd for the Rock tickets and Blue Knights jacket.

We ask that all players sell at least one booklet, if you need more they are available. All players names will then be put into a draw for a couple other prizes that Terry has donated. For every booklet that you sell, your name will into the extra draw. (i.e. sell 3 booklets and your name will be entered into the extra draw 3 times).

The draw date is December 15th. The winners will be announced on this website and notified by phone.

This message was sent out via email on Wednesday and is intended for Team #1 only.

Players and Parents

Due to various reasons we are not practising Thurs. or Sat. PLEASE show up at 9 AM on Sunday and we will have a walk through before our first game at 10:30. For next week before provincials we will practise Monday 7 PM, Wed 7:30 PM Sat. 4 PM ( for those who would like to shoot). Provincial games will be on Sunday.

We have one week and a long way to go before provincials so make sure practise is in your plans. Make Blue Knight Lacrosse a priority for one week!!

Blue Knights Jackets and Hats!

We have a small window to order team jacket and hats to be able to get them in time for the Provincials. Jackets and hat orders MUST be submitted by the deadline of Wednesday, October 6th.

The jackets are the Kobe 3 season type, with the BK logo on the front, the player number on the arm and 'Oshawa Blue Knights Lacrosse' embroidered on the back. The hats are a black hat with BK on the front.

Thursday's Practice for Team #2 - has been cancelled. There will be a regular practice Saturday morning, 10 AM at Central High as well as the exhibition game in the afternoon. So you have Thursday night off Team #2.

Oshawa Blue Knights Exhibition Games, Saturday, Oct 4

The Oshawa Blue Knight Junior Men Field Lacrosse teams will play two
exhibition games this Saturday, October 4th. The Blue Knights #2 team
will take on the Toronto Police 'Tinmen' squad at 4 PM, while the Blue
Knights #1 team will square off against the Bishop's University Gaiters
from Sherbrooke PQ at 6 PM. Both games will be played (weather
permitting) at the Oshawa Civic Stadium, 99 Thornton Road South, Oshawa. Admission is free, but there will be a donation tin to help fundraise for the teams.

The Oshawa Blue Knights, established in 1979, are one of Canada's
premiere field lacrosse clubs having won 19 provincial and 7 national
championships in the Junior Men's (U19) division. The minor Blue
Knights program has also won numerous provincial and national
championships. The Oshawa Blue Knights Junior Men's program has three
teams entered in the Ontario Junior Men's Field Lacrosse League this
year; one team in each of the league's three divisions.

The driving force behind the Blue Knights program over the years is
Oshawa resident Terry Lloyd. Former Oshawa Green Gael and pro lacrosse
player in Philadelphia, Terry is a 2008 inductee into the Ontario
Lacrosse Hall of Fame in the Builder category. Terry was also the
recipient of the Ontario Lacrosse Association's Ken Murray award in 1994
for his unselfish dedication to 'Helping the Kids.'

The Metro Toronto Police 'Tinmen' field lacrosse club is comprised of
police officers and firefighters from the GTA. The 'Tinmen' will
participate in the 2009 World Police and Fire Games to be held in
British Columbia next July and August.

The Bishop's University Gaiters are a powerhouse of the Canadian
University Field Lacrosse Association and include former Blue Knight and
Clarington Green Gael Erik Sorichetti in their line-up.
